Effective immediately, in the best interest of our participants, visitors and employees, all city-sponsored and affiliated activities, classes, programs, and events are suspended through Sunday, May 10.  This is a constantly evolving process and we are grateful for the community’s support and patience as we navigate the mitigation of COVID-19. We highly encourage the community to stay tuned to the Acworth Parks, Recreation, and Community Resource Department’s social media platforms (@acworthparksandrec) or click here for the most up to date information. The North Cobb Rotary Club, City of Acworth, and the Georgia Barbecue Association partner each year to host the Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival presented by Superior Plumbing, held at Cauble Park.   All proceeds are distributed amongst local charities, so come out and help make a difference in your community!

Friday night will feature a concert under the stars.  Table reservations will be available and will include 6 chairs.  Friday night will also include the infamous Lord of the Wings contest!  Purchase tasting tickets and be the judge for best wings and get a taste of what different vendors have to offer.  Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and festivities will last until 10:00 p.m.

Saturday boasts some of the best BBQ around!  Teams from all over the Southeast will compete in professional and amateur divisions to see who will take home the title.  For a small fee, you can taste your way through some of the best BBQ in the Southeast!  The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Handicap parking will be available at McCall Primary School (4496 Dixie Ave).  All other parking can be found throughout our historic downtown in our many public lots.
