Turn a day off into a day on in Acworth! The Acworth MLK Celebration and Day of Service will be held Monday, January 20, 2025. Everyone is invited to join us for a light welcome breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the Roberts School Community and Education Center. Following the welcome breakfast, the Unity Walk will begin at 9:15 a.m. and leave from the Roberts School and finish at the Acworth Community Center. Our program honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the Tanyard Creek Overlook of the Acworth Community Center. After the program concludes, we will begin our service project helping an organization in our community. MLK Day of Service shirts will be for sale at the Acworth Community Center leading up to and on the day of the event. All proceeds will go towards the Acworth Expanding Horizons and Acworth Achievers programs.

Volunteers can also sign up to volunteer at Mostly Mutts on Monday, January 20, after the MLK Program concludes.
– The second volunteer opportunity available to sign up for will be at Acworth Presbyterian Church to help paint their Fellowship Room and Choir Room. These rooms not only serve the church congregation but also are rooms used once a month in partnership with Life Changing Ministries to provide a monthly birthday program to Acworth youth. We will be painting these rooms to help update the spaces and provide a much-needed update to this historic church.
With volunteer opportunities happening at the same time, volunteers should choose one volunteer opportunity for the day.
