It’s easy to tell the holiday season is upon us.  Red and green decorations are popping up everywhere, thousands of imported Italian Twinkle Lights adorn every building in sight (be careful, they’re fragile), and you might even see a bit of snow here and there, even if it is artificial.

It’s time to focus on spending time with family, celebrating with friends, and, of course, spoiling the ones you love (and yourself!) with presents.  Problem is, it’s tough to do all of that in one place – except in Acworth.  Come see how Acworth has everything you need to make this the hap, hap, happiest holiday season ever!

Downtown Acworth Shopping

What’s the fun of ordering gifts online when you can experience all the small-town charm, unique variety, and amazing bargains that Main Street Acworth has to offer!

Shop local this season in Acworth!

SANTA’S ARRIVAL

It’s the biggest event of the season – the day the man himself, Santa Claus, arrives in Historic Downtown Acworth.  But how will he arrive, that’s the question!  A horse-drawn sleigh?  A fire truck?  A ’68 Camaro?  You’ll have to be there to find out.  Enjoy the tree-lighting ceremony, get a picture with Santa, catch a musical performance, and stay warm with hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows.  Sounds like a perfect day of family fun if there ever was one.  Santa usually arrives on the first Friday in December with festivities starting around 5:30 PM.  Check the event page for more details.

Pictures with Santa

All December long, Acworth is the place to take the family each and every Saturday.  Start your day with a fantastic brunch at Henry’s, then take photos with Santa at the Plaza on Senator Russell Avenue in the afternoon.  Check the event page for Santa’s Acworth itinerary.  The Main Street shops will also be alive with excitement, and the always-unique Serendipity House is not to be missed.

Horse and Carriage Rides

Enjoy Breakfast with Santa at Dogwood Terrace or catch him at the Plaza on Senator Russell Avenue.  Check the Christmas in Acworth page for Santa’s Acworth itinerary.  And it wouldn’t be the holiday season without a horse-drawn carriage ride!  Meet at the Plaza behind Henry’s to enjoy this holiday tradition.  Carriage rides are FREE!  Check the events page for the horse and carriage ride schedule.

Festival of Trees

Trees, trees everywhere, and each one decorated to the nines for Santa’s arrival!  Take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the Festival of Trees at Frana Brown Park on the north end of Main Street, as local school groups and businesses decorate a variety of trees donated by The Home Depot.

Menorah Lighting

No holiday season is complete without the Festival of Lights!  Come join Rabbi Zalman Charytan of Chabad Jewish Center as he lights the menorah at the corner of Cowan Road and Main Street.  The celebration commemorates the Jewish Maccabees’ military victory over Syrian-Greek oppression more than 2,000 years ago.  Check the event page for the complete holiday schedule.

Holiday Dining

Dining in Acworth is a family holiday tradition!  With an eclectic variety of amazing restaurants, a family meal in Acworth will be the center of holiday cheer this season.  From Henry’s, to Fusco’s, to Dogwood Terrace, and a myriad of other dining options, there is a restaurant for every taste.  And with special brunches and themed dinners throughout the month, be sure to make your reservation early, you don’t want to be left out of this holiday party!
