Acworth now offers additional amenities for those seeking to reduce their carbon footprint, but not limit their ability to explore. Travelers and locals alike will now find twelve new Tesla charging stations in the Baker Road Corridor at the corner of Baker Road and Lake Acworth Drive. Tesla chose this location for their world’s fastest charging network due to its proximity to Interstate 75 and surrounding hotels for overnight travelers. While charging their cars, visitors will find several restaurants and entertainment opportunities in the surrounding area. Tesla even offers an app for consumers’ smartphones that notifies them when their vehicle is ready for travel. Located in the Publix Shopping Center of exit 277, the new Acworth Supercharger Station is one of only 1,604 in the country with the nearest other station placed in Marietta.
This public charging station joins the previously installed EV Charging Station located in downtown Acworth at the Willis Street parking lot directly off Main Street. There, visitors can plug in their cars and enjoy many amenities such as dining, shopping, and exploring many historic sites. The City of Acworth’s Public Works Department collaborated with Tesla to install the second electric charging station off the interstate to provide additional convenience for electric car drivers and encourage gas alternative travel.
