Event Details

Meet local author and educator Randi Sonenshine as she reads her children’s book The Nest That Wren Built in historic Frana Brown Park. Fun fact! Each page of this book has a hidden ant in the artwork. Be sure to look closely around the park for hidden ants to take home. Don’t worry! These ants won’t ruin your picnic. After the reading, Ms. Sonenshine will be available to sign books and answer questions.

During the month of May, take your little birdies on a reading adventure and explore the Acworth Storybook Stroll! Wander as you read your way through The Nest That Wren Built by Randi Sonenshine in Downtown Acworth May 3-May 31.

The story begins at the Acworth Depot and continues throughout Acworth’s Historic Downtown. Participating businesses will have pages posted in their front windows for you to read while you explore. Look for the QR codes for enhanced interactive content!

Randi Sonenshine grew up exploring the magical “swamp” and woods behind her home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, developing an early sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world. This love of nature often appears in her writing, including The Nest That Wren Built (Candlewick 2020) and its forthcoming companion, The Lodge That Beaver Built (Candlewick 2022). In addition to writing for children, Randi is a literacy specialist and instructional coach. She lives with her husband and two sons in Northwest Georgia and does her best writing accompanied by birdsong and a good pot of Earl Grey tea.
