THE PARKSIDE DISTRICT

Logan Farm Park serves as the greenspace at the heart of our downtown. The park, located in the center of the city,  spreads out over approximately 120 acres and is home to multi-use pathways, wide open green space, a destination playground, group pavilion, restroom facility, and plenty of parking. Many events find their home at Logan Farm Park, including Pizza, Pints, and Pigskins and the Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival!

Perched at the edge of the park, visitors will see a growing number of restaurants, event spaces, our Community and Visitor Center, and an art gallery. Spend a spring or summer evening enjoying reimagined southern cuisine al fresco at 1885 Restaurant, while you watch the kids go wild at the playground. Or visit one of a number of important historic sites located in the District. The Acworth Rosenwald school or Doyal Hill Park are two fine examples.

MORE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE PARKSIDE DISTRICT

The Rosenwald School was constructed on School Street in 1924. Rosenwald Schools were part of a partnership between Julius Rosenwald (Sears Roebuck and Co.) and Booker T. Washington that brought schoolhouses to children in black communities throughout the segregated South in the early 1900s.

The Parkside District hosts many diverse outdoor events attended by residents and visitors alike. The wide-open spaces of Logan Farm Park is alive from early spring to late fall with food, beer and wine festivals, music concerts, holiday celebrations, and one of the best recurring Farmer’s Markets in the region.

Completed in 2019 the Acworth Community Center is a beautiful, 44,000 square foot facility located in the heart of the Parkside District. Located in the facility are two high school regulation basketball courts, which are also painted for volleyball and pickleball; a multi-purpose classroom, a group exercise room, and a banquet hall.  The banquet hall features breathtaking views of Tanyard Creek. This space can accommodate up to 350 people and is perfect for large scale weddings/receptions, upscale corporate events, and celebrations.
