THE MILL DISTRICT
At the gateway to the Acworth Mill District you will notice the beautifully restored Cowan Mill, now a one of a kind event venue that hosts weddings, social gatherings, and regular musical events. Cowan is Acworth’s oldest commercial building built by John Cowan in the late 1870’s. The mill initially produced flour, and later, other goods such as textiles and tapestries at various periods until the early 70’s.
The Mill District is a vibrant and growing area of downtown Acworth with unique restaurants, breweries, hip clothing boutiques, outdoor and camping supplies supplies, and parks for all to enjoy. The area is experiencing a major tourism-friendly business boom – thanks to restaurateurs and retailers seeking unique and historic locations to delight visitors. And all within the pedestrian-friendly Acworth Downtown area.
